Rubio is not ready to be president, Gonzales said, and the vice president “must be ready on day one.”“Rubio’s resume does not reflect someone prepared to confront serious and dangerous issues that our country faces as president,” Gonzales said.[…]Rubio might generate interest among Latinos “for the first 12 hours if selected for the number two spot, but that won’t last,” Gonzales said. The Republican Party should do more to court Latinos, Gonzales said.“We haven’t seen the GOP reach out to Latino voters (in the primaries). We’ve seen them alienate that vote,” he said.

Gonzales directly questioned the theory that the Cuban-American Rubio alone could bring Latinos back into the GOP fold: “I’ll tell you, the Hispanic vote has to be earned,” Rubio said in an interview with CNN en Español Friday. “You can’t just put somebody on there and say, ‘This is gonna deliver it.’ You’ve got to earn it, and primarily I think you earn it through economic policies.”

Romney: Income inequality is just ‘envy’

When 1 in 45 children in the United States of America face homelessness, it’s not envy. It’s probably fear.

Jon Huntsman destroys Ron Paul in 60 seconds over his racist newsletters in New Hampshire. I love the music - so ominous!

Huntsman is polling higher than before, but is still polling fourth in New Hampshire. I’m curious if bringing the claws out might help that. Current averaged national polling:

 • Newt Gingrich: 27.2%
 • Mitt Romney: 25.4%
 • Ron Paul: 12.2%
 • Rick Perry: 6.6%
 • Michele Bachmann: 6.2%
 • Rick Santorum: 3.8%
 • Jon Huntsman: 2.0%

Oh, and progressives shouldn’t forget something very important: Ron Paul is not all legal weed and no war. Click for why he’d be a disaster.

Jon Huntsman is still the grownup in the room. I’ll give him an award for classiest attack ad of Election 2012 - thus far.

Is this the final nail in the coffin?

Caption: Students Kritz Eliza and Taylor Matzen, dressed as American Indians, participate during a bake sale led by the Berkeley College Republicans Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at the University of California campus in Berkeley, Calif. The Berkeley College Republicans have scheduled a bake sale where the price of a cookie or a brownie depends on your gender and the color of your skin. The price of a baked good costs $2 for white people, $1.50 if you’re Asian, $1 for Latinos, 75 cents for African-Americans and 25 cents for Native Americans. Women get a discount of 25 cents. From SFgate.com
Wow. White girls in headdresses, participating in the bake sale. Are they trying to get free cookies or what? This is the insensitivity supported by the UC Berkeley Campus Republicans and their bake sale. From the article:

The Republican students said offering more expensive pastries to white students and less expensive ones to students of other ethnicities illustrated the injustice of any division by race. A few feet away from the bake sale, opposing groups held a “Conscious Cupcakes” giveaway, handing out their own treats for free. And around midday, hundreds of people dressed in black laid down in Sproul Plaza, silently demonstrating their support of SB185.

This come from the opposition to a bill that would allow California’s universities to consider race and ethnicity as one of many factors, like extra-curriculars, in college admissions. The bill would still ban admission based entirely on race or ethnicity.
<sarcasm> Here’s something more honest: How about you still charge the white guy $2.00 for the cookie, give him $3 to buy it, and then let him punch the Native American students in order to steal their cookies, screaming “MANIFEST DESTINY, ASSHOLES!” triumphantly? After that, how about the African-American students are forced to clean up after the bake sale, as the Campus Republicans sip mint juleps and supervise? Is that more honest? </sarcasm>
I don’t support throwing the baked goods at them, nor screaming obscenities. I do absolutely love the steps taken by the Harry Potter student group, selling “enchanted Costco muffins,” for “Two galleons to pure bloods” and “Eight sickles to muggles.”

This is hands down the most disgusting image from today.

Yeah, this is totally representative of the politics on Tumblr, especially the way the Libertarian column is so impartially writ. The author of this also forgot a column for us Cultural Marxists.

The white male, surprise, who created this chart once wrote this about Chile. It’s wrong at almost every level of it’s analysis with the exception of a few items, the name of the country and the individuals involved. They’d claim the Paris commune for themselves if, you know, it wasn’t in France.
